THURSDAYS from 11-1pm is KIDS CLUB AT THE GROVE - kid concerts, craft events, visiting museums.
There's a Kids Club on Tuesday mornings in Glendale at AMERICANA - check sched for great kid concerts, when it's not omer or the 3 weeks of course!
SKIRBALL/NOAH'S ARK - free on Thursdays -12 - 5pm! love the hands-on interaction with the story of Noah's Ark, create a storm, put animals on teva 2 by 2, touch, climb and play. also drum circles, and art room for projects! outside area for rainbow waterfall (to cool off) and have a picnic!
GETTY CENTER - always free, you have to pay for parking-group discounted rates
My kids love the tram ride up, beautiful views, gardens, architecture tours, family art room, dress up, kid art tours (ages 7+ I would say, although my 5 year old LOVED it) teaches you have to look at art and empower kids to express what they see and feel. pack a picnic and eat overlooking the gardens on the grassy hill.
Also up the PCH ...GETTY VILLA (Malibu) with reservations. Other Malibu fun: Cross Creek playground, COFFEE BEAN, Fishing Pier and FISH GRILL, and Malibu Bluffs for great beach side playground, big open field, a half mile past Cross Creek Rd.
Also, great beach hike near Zuma, right off PCH, little manageable mini mountain with clear paths and trails to get gorgeous ocean views! Too tired to explain how to find it right now. More tomorrow.
