A train weighs 450 TONS. That’s almost 300 cars!
You’re NO match for a train! Stay away from the tracks.
Trains travel up to 90 MPH and take up to one-half mile to stop. That’s the length of 9 football fields!
Flashing lights and ringing bells mean STOP and wait for the train to pass.
Trains ALWAYS have the right-of-way.
NEVER cross the tracks when the gates are down or when the signal indicates that a train is coming.
If a car you’re riding in stalls on the tracks, GET OUT and run away from the tracks.
Cross the tracks ONLY at designated locations.
PS...How was the Discovery Center today? Sorry we couldn't make it. Would anyone be up for going next Tuesday or the following week, anyday?
We want in on this trip. Sounds fantastic. A little overwhelmed by the details frankly. We will probably have to leave earlier than y'all. Its easier for me if we're all leaving at the same time from the same place...coordinating that punch card n' all.. I never took the train before.
